What's happening here?

Up to now we have met three times in Turku as well as in Helsinki, the latest meeting being at the Helsinki Comics festival in September. We’ve gotten to know each other better and have planned for the future, introduced ourselves to the audience at the Goethe Institute of Helsinki and discussed with comics researcher Ralf Palandt, who came for a visit from Germany.

Our discussions continue on November 8th and 9th in Turku at the Finnish Conference on Cultural Policy Research. Ralf Kauranen and Anna Vuorinne are coordinating a session on the theme Comics and inequality at the conference. Should you be interested in taking part in this session, send your presentation proposal to them (rajuka(at)utu.fi and ahvuor(at)utu.fi) by 30. September 2018. Enclose in your proposal: your name and contact information, title of the proposed presentation and an abstract (max. 300 words). The Finnish-language description of the session is to be found here.

Project member Warda Ahmed has some of her work on display in the group exhibition Suomi Finland 101 at Vantaa Art Museum Artsi. The exhibition is open until January 13th, 2019.
